Workplace Literacy Discussion List Members,

Many thanks to all of you who have submitted your nominations
for the seminal resources in our field. Below is a list of those
received so far. Now that you see the list we have compiled, what is
missing? I'll add others as you submit them.

Also, note that the resources with ** in front of them, I have
been unable to locate so far. If you know the bibliographic information
for any of these or the URL if they are online, please let me know so I
can update the list. They are not all in true bibliographic format yet.

Donna

1. No longer in print is Joan Friedenberg's Workplace ESL
- A Simple Guide to Program Planning and Implementation is a wonderful
primer for those just venturing into workforce-related instruction.

2. Several states, including Texas, have their own
handbooks/guides for both program admin and instructional staff new to
workforce literacy. Like many state's adaptations, I readily
acknowledge, Texas' Charting A Course handbooks "re-package" basic
principles, strategies, techniques that have been around for some time
but with state-specific needs and constraints in mind
