[PovertyRaceWomen 161] Video to Sensitive Educators, SLPs to Poverty IssuesRubin, Rhonda (R1SE) RhRubin1 at serha.caSun Dec 31 17:58:52 EST 2006
I am a speech-language pathologist (SLP) and I will be doing a presentation to my colleagues working in school settings on literacy in low income homes and implications for SLPs. I am looking to make this 1/2 day session as interactive as possible and am seeking some help for a video or a clip from a movie which would help to sensitize the audience to some of the issues of those children that come from low-income homes. Unfortunately, most of what I have some across relates to African Americans or immigrant minority groups. Is anyone aware of something that might meet my needs (30 minutes or less). I am also looking for ideas for activities that could be done with the group. Thanks in advance!
