Acquiring the ability to converse in a second language requires, in most
cases, that the learner actually engages in real life conversation.
therefore, the best way for your student to improve her conversational skills
is for her to converse w/ other English speakers who do not speak her native
language.

It is often the case that students attend years of ESL instruction, they
improve their reading and writing skills, but their speaking skills remain
latent. Only, when they are forced into situations where they must speak
English, they begin to acquire or improve their ability to speak and
understand.
